Susie Cooper surprise

Susie Cooper surprise
Um, anyone noticed that I seem on a bit of a vintage ceramics virtual shopping binge? This one was a real surprise, because I thought I had Susie Cooper's style nailed down, but it seems I was mistaken. (found at UK Storeroom via Print&Pattern).

And there's more to see, but you'll have to zoot over to the Elle Decoration SA blog, where I followed Janne's hot lead and found some treasures...

Janne has some pretty nifty vintage ceramics of her own, so check them out her blog. She teamed up one of her new finds with a Mugs teatowels. It's a perfect match!

PS: Going contrary to everyones' urgings, I didn't bid on the Berso plates from yesterday. I rather piously decided that I quite like lusting after things I can't have. Once I have them, it's not really the same any more. I hope somebody else feels the same, and that this isn't some deeply annoying Calvinist quirk I've picked up somewhere.

Bersa plates tempting me...

Bersa plates tempting me...
They're up for auction from Danish eBay sellers ZielZiel. Will they survive the trip to South Africa? Can I really fit any more crockery into my house? Sigh. I do want 'em, and it doesn't seem that blogging them is working as an effective displacement activity...

I simply adore this mug, found in a lovely treasure hunt post at Bloesem yesterday. I've been thinking a lot about ceramic transfers lately, and this is very inspiring.

Frodo and friends

Frodo and Friends
I joined Frodo and some other friends at Milnerton Market on Saturday, and packed my camera in an effort to take snaps instead of buying things. Saw some lovely collections.

But my camera battery went flat, so I got out my purse instead, and came home with a darning mushroom, a potato peeler, a set of jumper cables, bags of nuts and a stack of vintage crochet patterns. I love that market, I do.

All the light fittings in this flat are currently occupied. Please take a number and queue at the top of the hall cupboard.

I'm a geek

I'm a geek

I don't think I've ever plumbed the depths of my own geekiness until this long weekend. Visit my Flickr page, where you'll see what geeks like me can do with their valuable holiday break, an ad-hoc infinity screen, an obsession with old crockery, and a brand new teatowel design (see yesterday's post).

I had fun. Hope you like too.

S is for Shopping

S is for Shopping
Since resigning yesterday, I've started developing a Bad Attitude. Just look at the way I've been squandering valuable work hours just pottering about at the H is for Home shop. Found some cute things though!

Visit the H is for Home blog for lots more lovely things, and find out more about the team behind this brand new store by reading an interview with them at the charming Mooiedingen blog.
