Mugs - now in my shop

Mugs - now in my shop
At last, I have a new teatowel design in my Etsy shop . I drew all the vintage teacups and mugs in our house, and turned them into this design, which I'm calling Mugs. It comes in three rather odd, but quite delicious colours that somehow ended up being given berry names.

The first colourway (also above) is Gooseberry...

This one's called Raspberry,

And this one, fairly predictably, is Blueberry.
If you like them, hurry over to my Etsy shop and click BUY. The first few people to buy will get a nice surprise, so hurry!

Aprons at last

Aprons at last!

It's not like I haven't had them lying around my studio since November, it's just been finding the time to take all the product shots. And also finding a way of photographing the back that doesn't making my bum look big!

But here we are at last - aprons in my Etsy shop, available in Orla and Spoons prints.

Shop update

Shop update
I've finally got a few new cushions in my Etsy shop.
Two in my Summer Day print, and one in red Eep!

Summer Day - new on Etsy
I've got a new teatowel design in my Etsy shop today!

I've called this one Summer Day. The element making up the repeat is a cutout I made from a diagram of a floral inflorescence, but the overall design makes me think of dandelion seeds drifting across a summer sky.

It's printed in two colourways, which I've called Poppyseed and Dry Grass .

(And thanks for the great plug, Grace!)

New Orla print in my Etsy shop

Orla was the very first teatowel design I made - a whole year ago! I called it Orla because I can't see any stem print without thinking of Orla Kiely. Can you?

My very first Etsy listings (soooo long ago, in April this year!) included Orla, printed in red, green and blue on white hopsack. That print run has sold out, and I've been meaning to reprint, but this time on natural hopsack.

I've finally got round to it, and the results are in my Etsy shop:

Now I have Orla in Chartreuse (a nice new word for me)...

... and also in Sharkskin.
Have a great weekend, everyone!

Pretty Purses - new on Etsy

Here's a quick update on recent additions to my Etsy shop:

- There are two pretty purses made up from an old embroidered cloth.

- And also a few Red Willow tshirts for 3 - 5 year olds.

Next week sometime, I'll be listing my Orla print again in two new colourways!

Borrowed Spoons - new in Etsy

It all started with Jasper Morrison's Book of Spoons. It inspired me to take some pics of my spoons, and these caused cutlery drawers to start rattling all over the world.

First, Lisa sent me a pic of her spoons...

Then Lena took pics of hers...
And Kelly did too.

I was pretty over the spoon about all this, and when my blog friends kindly let me use their spoon pics as inspiration along with my own, the happy result was Borrowed Spoons - a teatowel design in three cutlery-hued colourways. It's in my Etsy shop today.

And in stainless steel too:

And because everyone was so nice about sharing, and because spoons are used for feeding, I'm pledging a dollar from each online sale of Borrowed Spoons to the Peninsula Schools Feeding Association, which provides 140 000 little kids with a nice hot meal at school every day.

So I guess I should say thanks to Mr Morrison for starting it all. Thanks, Jasper!

New on Etsy - Summer Weeds cushion covers

Finally, I have made my Summer Weeds print into cushion covers. Check 'em out in my Etsy shop.

Summer Weeds - coming soon

I cut this out of black paper last month. It's called Summer Weeds.

Now I've turned it into a print, to appear later this week in my Etsy shop on teatowels and cushion covers in shades of burnt butter and smoke blue.

Monsters! - new on Etsy

The path to my Etsy shop was practically worn out over the weekend from all the Design*Sponge readers tracking through, so in an effort to freshen up for the new week, this Monsters Tshirt is now for sale. Grr-rrr.

I gave one to my goddaughter earlier today. She's about to turn two and for some reason, her parents think a monster Tshirt is very appropriate gift. Can't imagine why. She looks like an angel to me.

And talking of young 'uns, it was my niece Isabel's blessing on Sunday. Here she is two months ago, barely born and already sporting a Pink Flower tee from Skinny laMinx...

...and a few months later, a ball of energy in her Skipping Monkey tshirt. So sweet!

Eep! cushions

I put up some olive and slate Eep! cushions in my Etsy shop yesterday!

Sprouts and Trees on Etsy. And potplants.

New in my Etsy shop today - more fridge magnets!

I've had the brainwave of photgraphing these magnets in action - both to demonstrate to potential buyers their strength (strong!) and size (nice size!), and also to show Paul attempting to blend in with the decor...

Yes, he's the one right next to the potplant. No, between the potplant and the TV. Almost missed him, right?

MultiBuck

Before I dash, here's what's new in my Etsy shop today - the MultiBuck cushion cover - red screenprinted onto paynes grey cotton, with a red linen backing. Have a great weekend!

New on Etsy

I've got this pencil case for sale in my Etsy shop today.

Etsy listing - falling leaves

I rode my bike to work this morning, scattering autumn leaves in the chilly sunlight on the way. Everyone thinks I'm terribly brave to ride my bike in our ghastly traffic, but who can deny that when it comes to the fun factor, bikes beat cars hands down!

In honour of this most lovely season, a falling leaf magnet, available for sale in my Etsy shop today.

9.5.07

Today on Etsy...

It's a teatowel! A dusty blue version of the red Orla print already available in my Etsy shop.

Etsy - Konneksie

I've got a new magnet up in my Etsy shop today.

Selling on Etsy's been great fun for me so far, and has had some unexpected consequences.
This week, I got my first local order, and although I didn't recognise the buyer's surname, I had a funny feeling that she was an old schoolfriend - someone I've not seen since 1988.
While tying up the transaction, I asked which school she had been to and it turns out she is my old friend!
Spooky!
We're meeting up on Monday, to hand over the cushion she bought and to catch up on almost 20 years' worth of news. Isn't that simply extraordinary?

New on Etsy - Stem stitched

Listed in my Etsy shop this morning - this cushion cover onto which I stitched a very Orla-esque stem design using my sewing machine.

Yesterday (another public holiday) I liberated myself from all my "have to" things by making a long list of all the things I have to do, then promptly sitting down at my sewing machine and doing things not on the list at all!

Of course, I woke up in the night in a sweat, dreaming about all the things on the list, but what the heck - I've got curtains in the study at last.

Spring on Etsy

It may be rainy and wintery in Cape Town, but there are Springy things in my Etsy shop today.

New on Etsy - Cushion selection

More Etsy stuff today. These are for sale in my shop as cushion covers only (to save on postage costs).
